More About The Product

Welcome to the NBTmarine Electronics FAQ page! Here, we aim to provide you with answers to some commonly asked questions about our marine electronics MFD's. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just looking to learn more about the world of electronics, you've come to the right place.

1. What are NBTmarine MFD's?

NBTmarine MFD's refers to (Multi Functioning Displays) devices that operate by controlling the unit by touch screen powered by a main brain (Garmin 84XX/86XX Units). They are adding an additional larger Display for anglers to easily navigate and controls their gamin systems.

2. What are some Benefits of the NBTmarine MFD?

Electronics work off a "brain" inside that process our systems/images. With that being said there is no reason to have multiple "brains" in one system, for example think of a computer system, 3 monitors (displays), one "brain". NBTmarine has developed a proven pro level Marine MFD that allows you to connect to your Garmin "brain" (86XX/84XX) units and add an additional LARGE headunit/MFD/Display at an affordable price!

3. What are some common Specifications of marine electronics?

There is a wide range of marine electronics available in the market today. Some common specs include:

  • Screen Resolution
  • Screen Type for Glare
  • Processors

The NBTmarine MFD has high standards to match the industry's top level electronics with FHD (1920x1080) Resolution, the OPTION for a Matte Anti-Glare (Garmin Style Display) or a Vivid HD Anti-Reflective (Lowrance style Blue Display)

4. How do I choose the right electronics for my Boat?

Choosing the right electronics depends on several factors, including your specific requirements, budget, and personal preferences. Here are a few things to help you make an informed decision:

  • What hull/boat do you plan to install the system on?
  • Consider who may be doing your installation, it is a fairly simple system, but can get over complicated very fast! We recommend JonesMarineElectronics, BassBoatElectronics or TheBassTank
  • Do your research, compare our systems setup prices with ours, compare screen sizes and features.
  • A "budget" the Top Level Garmin 84XX/86XX paired with the NBTmarine 16" Destroyer starting at $6600, this may sound like allot, but for a total boat screen package with top level equipment this truly is a budget friendly setup!

SERIVICE WARNING

ALL NBTmarine Units (22" and 16") have a 2 year warranty, this does not include cables. Miss handled cables or not properly installed cables, hand knobs or CNC Gimbals.

NBTmarine Unit removal and re install - When removing and re-installing the NBTmarine Unit on and off the boat make sure the entire system (12v POWER) is completely shut OFF (Linked GARMIN unit must have zero power not just is the off postion). When unit is unpluged and removed from boat, be sure there is NO power in the system (ALL OF BOAT) until re-installed. Be sure to make the HDMI connection sealed from the elements when not in use.

Be CAUTIOUS of mostiure and debris when re-installing the unit.

If you would like to use the Linked garmin unit with the NBT unit removed from the boat, the HDMI LINK cable on the NBT side must be secured out of the elements and no exposed to water or debris or other metal cable ends or surfaces.
