NBT MARINE WARRANTY

There are two types of warranties available to consumers.

Type 1: Standard Marine Consumer Limited Warranty - Self-performed owner-installed NBT products.

Type 2: Marine Certified Dealer Limited Warranty - Installed by an NBT or NMEA or GARMIN certified installer.

Type 1: Standard Marine Consumer Limited Warranty - Owner Installation

NBTmarine Branded marine products are are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 1-year from the date the product was purchased by the first customer. Within this period, NBTmarine LLC. will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use.

Standard Limited Warranty Returns Procedure

1.10 Customers and dealers should first contact a NBTmarine product support representative for technical assistance. After standard troubleshooting fault tests have been performed, a return material authorization (RMA) number will then be given. 1.20 This RMA number is to be marked in plain view on the package being shipped to NBT for the warranty service. This RMA number will act as a reference number for all parties involved. 1.30 Technical assistance and request for an RMA can be made by contacting NBTmarine product support directly at: NBTmarine@gmail.com, (612) 244 9737 or (870) 773-3474 Jones Marine Electronics the sister company and Main Warranty return center. 1.40 The returned product must be shipped to NBTmarine with proof of purchase and the RMA number marked in plain view on the package. Regional shipping address will be provided by NBTmarine at the time of RMA. 1.50 Customers may choose to hire a certified dealer to perform this return procedure at the customer’s expense or ship the unit back via FedEx, UPS or DHL with the attached tracking number to the RMA number and email chain provided at contact with NBTmarine Warranty.

Type 2: Marine Certified Dealer Limited Warranty - Installed by an NBT or NMEA or GARMIN certified installer.

2.10 The NBTmarine Certified warranty period is 2 years for parts and replacement provided that the NBTmarine branded marine products are factory-new goods purchased from a NBTmarine approved dealer and installed by a NBTmarine, Garmin or NMEA certified installation entity.

2.20 Installations made by a third party that is not a NBTmarine or Garmin and NMEA or certified entity or is not approved by NBTmarine will be classified as owner installations and will therefore be covered by the Type 1: Standard Marine Consumer Limited Warranty described above or the NBTmarine 2-year Consumer Limited Warranty.

2.30 Proof of NBTmarine warranty coverage is required. Proof of warranty is composed of the following:

  • Invoice with original date of device purchase, and
  • Product serial number, and
  • Proof of an authorized NBTmarine, Garmin and NMEA or certified installation.

Warranty Exclusions

3.10 In addition to the limitations above, the warranty exclusions set forth below shall apply to the Standard Marine Consumer Limited Warranty, and Marine Certified Dealer Limited Warranty.

3.20 Installations not in accordance with the installation guidelines provided in the NBTmarine branded user/install sheet or QR code will invalidate the warranty.

3.30 The warranty policy does not cover costs associated with non-NBTmarine manufactured brackets, damage due to improper MFD configuration. It also does not cover shop supplies, lost production time, or collateral damage.

3.40 The warranty policy does not cover product failures due to shipping damage, accident, abuse or misuse, improper storage, alteration or unauthorized repair, corrosion, products on which the serial number has been tampered with, power spikes, vandalism, water ingress, submersion, or other acts of God (force majeure) or weather phenomena such as lightning, flash floods, spills of food or liquids, maladjustment of customer controls, etc.

3.50 The warranty policy does not apply if, NBTmarine was not notified by the consumer of the alleged defect or malfunction of the product during the applicable limited warranty period.

3.60 The warranty policy does not apply if, the product was used with or connected to an accessory not supplied by NBTmarine or fit for use with NBTmarine branded product or used in a manner other than its intended use.

3.70 NBTmarine assumes no responsibility for damage incurred during installation.

3.80 The NBTmarine Limited 2- year warranty does not extend to self-performed owner-installed equipment or installations.

3.90 The warranty policy does not cover: incorrectly specified product, incorrect bracket installation, cable problems, DC power interference installation problems, existing onboard electrical systems noise, stray voltages, units subjected to or connected to the incorrect voltage supply level or voltage type.

4.00 The warranty policy does not cover LCD displays that exhibit faulty pixels that are within technical specifications as determined by NBTmarine or the NBTmarine approved LCD supplier.

4.10 The warranty policy does not cover products for which a suitable proof of purchase showing date, dealer/retailer, serial number, or installation invoice (if required) cannot be demonstrated at the time of the request for warranty service.

4.20 NBTmarine assumes no responsibility for damage of non-NBTmarine products connected to the Battleship, Cruiser and Destroyer MFD

4.30 The warranty policy does not cover damage or costs resulting from the connection of third-party products outside the compatible Garmin Devices.

4.40 The warranty policy does not cover freight costs associated with the return of defective equipment to NBTmarine, nor is such freight payable by NBTmarine.

4.50 The warranty policy does not cover water intrusion caused by high-pressure water sprayers or damage to products caused by harsh chemicals.

4.60 The warranty policy does not cover costs associated with modified or painted products outside of manufacture specifications.

4.70 The warranty policy does not cover normal wear and tear or misuse, or cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks, and dents.

4.80 The warranty policy does not cover improper or insufficient care or maintenance. As a result, the warranty policy does not cover TITIAN or NBTmarine MFD products that have not been maintained as required by the applicable Maintenance page online or any costs associated with performing maintenance required by the applicable Maintenance online page Manual.

4.90 The warranty policy does not cover damage resulting from or caused by inadequate cleaning or improper service of NBTmarine products used in saltwater or brackish water.

5.00 The warranty policy does not cover damage caused by accident, incorrect installation, incorrect mounting, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, other acts of nature or external causes, or failure to obtain required annual maintenance service of a NBTmarine product.

5.10 The warranty policy does not cover damage to a product that has been connected to power and/or data cables that are not supplied by NBTmarine or Garmin, damage to a product that has been connected to cables that are not certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and are not labeled as Limited Power Source (LPS).

5.20 The warranty policy does not cover costs associated with or related to normal maintenance or replacement of parts or accessories that are not defined as a manufacturer defect.

5.30 The warranty policy does not cover costs associated with or related to the removal and replacement of non-NBTmarine products to gain access to NBTmarine products requiring replacement.

5.40 Product recalls: In the event NBTmarine chooses to recall a product from the field, we reserve the right to establish a fair rate (time, travel, and hourly rate) for removal and replacement of such product based on a case-by-case situation.

5.50 NBTmarine reserves the right to refuse any warranty service claim it deems unfair or nonconforming to the policies and procedures set forth in this warranty document. In addition, NBTmarine reserves the right to refuse to pay warranty labor reimbursement to any service dealer it finds not performing quality work or manipulating this warranty policy in a way that is not in the interest of NBTmarine or the end user.

Product Returns

6.00 Any return of defective product must have an RMA number issued in advance.

6.10 The RMA is valid for 45 days from the date of issuance. Units must be returned to NBTmarine within this period, otherwise the RMA may be canceled.

6.20 Unmarked boxes or returns without RMA numbers will be returned to sender.

6.30 Freight costs: Inbound delivery to NBTmarine is the responsibility of the purchaser of the product. Standard ground outbound shipping freight cost will be paid by NBTmarine. Overnight or second-day express delivery freight service is available at an additional cost, paid by the requester.
